Easter message for Areg
Happy Easter!
First of all thank You very much for the video about your present project for us. We cant wait to see it after the parents of Fanni will come back.
Do you celebrate Easter in Canada? At us, in Hungary it is a very big holiday with family gatherings and lots of fun. This time again we have spent the Saturday at the cousin of Fanni, and today we were at my parents, together with my aunts and uncles, grandmother and cousins. It was great.
To make you think a little bit about Easter, and to make you to use your brain during the Easter Holidays when there is no school, we have again prepared for you a crossword puzzle, but this time the theme is Easter. It is a little bit more difficult than the previous one, but I am sure that you will manage. I would like to see the result when you will have it done.
Here you are:

Across:
1. Will he visit you this year?
3. Easter eggs are often made out of this treat.
7. The season in which easter is celebrated.
9. Collect your eggs in this.
Down:
1. You may wear one in an Easter parade.
2. Cheerful yellow spring flower.
4. You may go on an Easter egg ...
5. These hatch out of real eggs.
6. We give chocolate ones at Easter.
8. Show off your Easter bonnet at one!
Cheers,
Fanni & Matyi

Sleeping in the space
Dear Areg,
I just saw that Matyi was preparing a nice and difficult cross- puzzle for you! It seems quiet difficult even for me! But I am sure Mom&Dad can help you to solve it!
I just found an interesting article about how astronauts sleep in the space, have you ever thought about that?
How do astronauts sleep in space?
Usually after a long day of work, an astronaut will settle in for a much needed eight hours of sleep. Sleeping in a space shuttle or on the space station is a lot different than sleeping down on Earth.
How do you sleep? You probably have a bedroom with a bed. Astronauts often have only very tiny rooms to sleep in, and there isn’t enough room for a bed. They often sleep in small compartments or in sleeping bags!
The biggest difference between sleeping on Earth and sleeping in space is gravity. In space, there is no gravity to pull people down. Without gravity, there actually isn’t really any up or down at all! Sometimes astronauts sleep standing up! Also, so that they don’t float away and bump into things while they sleep, astronauts will often strap their sleeping bags to the walls!
Standing and Sleeping
Astronauts can stand up and sleep at the same time, but that would be tricky for us. What would happen if we fell asleep standing up? Don’t try to do it though. You might bump into something and hurt yourself.
Imagine that your bedroom was in outer space. How would arrange the furniture? Would you put your bed on a wall or on the ceiling? What changes would you have to make so that you wouldn’t float out of bed at night while you slept?
Hugs, Fanni

Dear Areg,
I am sorry that we did not write to you so long, but we were very busy. We have been buying a new apartment in Budapest. it will be ready this summer. It will be very nice and cozy. I hope one day you will also have the chance to see it.
Because of the construction of the new flat, we have to travel a lot to Budapest, this is why we did not have a chance to write into the blog, or to talk to you on Skype. But this weekend we are going to be at home, so hopefully we can talk a little bit.
In the mean time we have passed a very important day, which is very important for a small astronomer like you! Have you realized that it was the March equinox, which is practically the beginning of the astronomic Easter. On this day the day and the night have exactly the same length. I am sure that a small astronomer like you already knows that the days and nights are not the same long all around the year. In winter time the nights are longer and in summer the days are longer. On the March equinox the day and the night are equal. Do you know what is the reason, why the length of the days is changing? If not, I'll explain it to you next time.
For the time being here you can find a nice crossword puzzle. All the questions are related to astronomy. I would like to see the solution, once you manage. It must be easy for you.

Dear Fanni and Matyi, I wanted to tell you and show some pictures from my visit to the Ontario Science Centre for the Bird watching. There was a big window and we had to stand behind it and look for birds which were coming to eat special food.
I asked lots of questions to the scientists who work in the Ontario Science Centre. They were very nice and answerd to all my questions.

Skiing
Dear Areg,
We also had a lot of snow last week, so we went skiing with Matyi to Mavrovo! Matyi is very good in skiing, but I am just a beginner, so he is teaching me how to ski! Skiing is not so easy and sometimes I get scared when the skope is too steep. But I am better and better every day and I really enjoy it! How is your ice-skating going?
Here is a photo about us, I hope you like my hat, its easy to find me in the show.. :-)

RE: My Photos
Dear Areg!
We like your photos, that you uploaded to the blog very much, indeed! You are very good. You seam to be on a good track to become a real photo reporter.
As a next step, I would like to give you some task to practice taking pictures. If you have the mood, ask Mummy to go out a little bit and take some pictures of your neighborhood.
Fanni and Me, we would be very much interested in your neighborhood, how does it look like. So go out and take some pictures of your building, the entrance, your window from outside, etc. It would be also very interesting for us, to have some pictures of something that you like around your building. Maybe a tree, or a car, or an other building. Think of something and take the picture of it.
We are looking forward to see the pictures!

Sudoku game
13 January, 2011
Dear Areg,
It has already been almost two weeks since we have talked on Skype after the New Years Eve. So it is time for a new blog post. Since I have seen that you are already a big boy, with own camera, going to school and to ice skating trainings, lets try something more difficult game.
On the New Years Eve party we spent our time together with lots of friends, and just like Mummy and Daddy, we also had some fun games. One of them was Sudoku competition. I was the second fastest to solve the Sudoku, which was a real success, because there were some real experts among our friends. Because of this, we have become funs of Sudoku, and on the way back to Skopje, we did our own competition of Sudoku with Fanni. And guess what, she won against me!
Now it is your turn! Have you ever heard about Sudoku? It is not so complicated, I'm sure that such a clever boy like you will manage to solve it. This is a 4x4 Sudoku, for clever boys, like you.
First of all, you have to know the numbers from 1 to 4. I am sure that you know them all, but maybe a quick reply with Mummy would be helpful.
The Sudoku game itself is about to place numbers like a puzzle into a square, that contains 16 boxes. You have to fill in the boxes using the numbers 1 to 4. But be careful, there is only one right solution for each and every box. You have to find which number fits which box. The key rule is that every row and column and every group of 4 boxes inside the thicker lines must contain each number only once.
Are you ready?

Here you are:

One hint, in case you would have troubles to start it: You should start with the first column on the left. This column already includes "1" and "2". Therefore the box, right above the nr. "2" should include either "3" or "4". However if you check the row, which includes this box, you will see, that it already has a nr "3". If you remember the rule that every row and column must contain each number only once, you will find out, that this box can only contain nr "4". You have to do similar steps to continue.
I hope you will enjoy the game, and I'm looking forward to see the solution.
Cheers,
